Gold Vicky
Mittens are still in great demand. Vicky gives proof to this declaration by relying on her Ziener Pro model "Globe". These technically superior racing mittens made of robust goatskin are optimally waterproof and windproof. The Ziener PROTECTSHIELD® with its special padding and carbon protectors at the back of the hand and rib, provide perfect protection against blows. In addition, the reinforced leather palm is extremely robust and ensures a secure grip. Both pro glove styles of the ski stars Victoria and Felix will be on retail sale as replica models by next winter. Next to the styles "Giga" and "Laxo", which are identical to the pro models, there will be three more kids styles influenced by these two athletes, which are also carrying their authentic signatures.
- Victoria, did your life changed a lot since you got Olympic champion in giant slalom last year?
For my personality not really, but I think from the public point of view it did. People recognize me on the street and I got more official appointments with sponsors etc. I'm happy about that as I see it also as an appreciation of my benefits.
- You already won two world cups this season, are you satisfied so far ?
Yes, I'm really satisfied. This has been a perfect season start for me, giving me a lot of self-esteem for the things coming up.
- You broke your thumb by training in New Zealand, did this injury handicapped you in Sölden?
No, not really. I got some extra individual gloves from Ziener and an additional protection on my ski sticks.
- Some people say that your skiing style is extraordinary but also a bit too risky, do you agree with that?
No I don't think it's too risky. If you want to win you have to fight and risk something.
- Once, Wolfgang Maier said, that you are skking like the guys - is that true?
I don't know but I see it as a great compliment.
- Do you see your skiing mate Tessa Worley as your strongest competitor?
She is definately one of the favorites. But there are many more strong athletes in the giant slalom.
- You are getting more and more a winter sport star. How do you stay grounded?
I'm a normal young girl with great family and friends. At home nobody sees only the ski racer and I'm able to relax and just being myself.
- Do you have time for family and friends? And how do you spend your leisure time?
During the winter season it's less time but I try to go home as often as possible. I go out with friends, read books and listen to music. In the summer I like to play golf and also work for my studies.
